New Zealand Education and Accommodation Expense

Tuition fees in New Zealand universities vary depending on the college, course, and level, with fees ranging from 19,000 to 42,000 NZD annually. Accommodation costs also vary, with options such as residence halls, shared flats, or private flats available, and rents differing from place to place. The accommodation cost may go up to 15,000 NZD annually, according to the high commission.

International students are permitted to work up to 20 hours a week, subject to the terms and conditions of their visa. A valid student visa is required, specifying whether the student is permitted to work or not, and students can only work for 20 hours per week.

Post Study Work (PSW) Permit in New Zealand

International students can further apply for a work visa in New Zealand for up to 3 years after completion of their study depending on the academic performance. Work visa in New Zealand lasts for 1,2, or 3 years depends on qualification level.

Up to 3 years of Post study work permit is only for students with these qualifications:
- Bachelor Level 7
- PG Diploma Level 8
- Masters Level 9
- Ph.D. Level 10
Others qualifications level are granted with 1 year of Post Study Work permit.

Newzealand Visa Guidelines

Step 1: Gather the necessary documents for your New Zealand study visa application, including an offer letter from a recognized education provider, evidence of funds to cover tuition fees, accommodation, living expenses, return ticket home, passport, medical certificate, police verification certificate, and English language proficiency test.

Step 2: Apply online for a study visa on the New Zealand High Commission’s website, paying the NZD 330 application fee.

Step 3: Secure supporting documents and complete the visa application process online, which may vary depending on your course and qualifications.

Step 4: Qualify for a mandatory telephonic interview.

Step 5: Complete the Fund Transfer Scheme (FTS) process for living expenses and pay the tuition fees.

Step 6: Submit proof of successful payment of tuition fees and FTS to the New Zealand High Commission.

Step 7: Receive a passport request for verification.

Step 8: Submit your original passport, along with processing fees, to the TTS service for verification.

Step 9: Receive your visa once your application is approved.
