Determine the jurisdiction that applies to your state of residence.
Identify the type of visa required, either a Schengen Visa (for stays up to three months) or a National Visa (for stays longer than three months).
Book a visa appointment online.
Open a blocked account and deposit 10,513 EUR to secure accommodation and living expenses in Germany.
Complete the required documentation, including three sets of documents (two photocopies and one original) which may vary depending on the course and qualifications of each student.
Submit the visa application either at the German High Commission or VFS Global Application Centre.
Pay the visa application fee, which may vary based on jurisdiction and can be paid via demand draft, cash, or debit/credit card. The current German student visa application fee is EUR75* (subject to change).
